Dakota Free
Purity Your Skin Will Notice

Dakota Free Products
are formulated using skin friendly ingredients that work
together to provide an effective alternative to
commercial products with a synthetic chemical base. We
list every ingredient used in each formula, and have
carefully designed production methods to prevent
cross-contamination between the products so that you
know what you are buying and can use Dakota Free with
confidence.
This policy of full disclosure and isolation of
production is not common. Unless you are dealing with a
company that is focused on the potential allergens in
their products, there may be hidden or unintentional
ingredients in what you currently use on your skin.
These un-noticed ingredients can be a troublesome for
your skin or even dangerous for those with severe
allergies, Celiac disease or chemical sensitivities.
We work hard to preserve the integrity of our product
line, and as a result, Dakota Free is different than
most other skin care lines available. In addition to
being free of undesirable ingredients (see the list
below), the products comply with Feingold Standards, are
not tested on animals, are biodegradable, vegetarian and
made in the USA. This impressive attribute list, along
with the high quality and effectiveness define the
“Dakota Free difference” - we expect that your skin will
notice that difference.

The composition of any product
used on the skin is important, not only to the comfort
and appearance of the skin, but potentially to one’s
health in general.
Chemical compounds applied to the skin in the form of
lotion, soap or other skin care products can be absorbed
through the skin and affect the body. Perfumes and
perfume oils can also be absorbed by breathing in the
aromatic chemicals they contain. Gluten, allergens or
chemicals in items used on the hands, lips or face may
cause problems for sensitive individuals when
inadvertently transferred to the mouth and ingested.
For these reasons, the Dakota Free team believes that
anything used on the skin needs to be as natural, pure
and beneficial as possible. The Dakota Free product line
has been formulated with this principle in mind.
Here are some examples of how unintended and sometimes
unlisted ingredients end up in skin care or bath
products:
Ingredients from one product
can contaminate another product during production; a
potential problem if several products are made using
the same equipment or in close proximity to one
another.
Solvents, grain alcohol or propylene glycol are
often used in the processing of herbal extracts and
may remain, unlisted, in the final product.
Combinations of preservatives, emulsifiers, or other
chemicals are sometimes listed under a single,
unfamiliar Brand name instead of their individual
chemical names.
Antioxidants are sometimes added to plant oils by
the manufacture; these antioxidants extend shelf
life and may not be listed on the label. Some of the
more common antioxidants used in this way are
vitamin E, wheat germ oil, rosemary oleoresin and
Dodecyl Gallate.
Occurrences such as these
are not of interest to everyone, but are vitally
important to those with health problems triggered or
aggravated by specific chemicals or plants. In addition
to a complete ingredient listing, you will find an
attribute checklist on each Dakota Free product page to
help you chose the right item for your specific need.
